Overview

Bromyard was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1186, by Tsîbè Witting. The establishment of Bromyard was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Tsîbè Witting struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Bromyard as a prison colony.

Bromyard was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bromyard is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Bromyard is buildings are arranged arround a single premissive packed earth mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Unfortuantly, these robustly designed timber walls are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Looking around Bromyard you immediately realise that the locals are looking back at you. All of them. Everywhere you look somone is staring back at you analytically, looking over every inch of you, your gear, and your companions. As you get close to people, their hands move closer to their belt knife, or dagger. You may want to watch where you go and what you say...

Cultural Notes

Bromyard 's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

In Bromyard there is a constant smell of overcooked presumably ethnic food.

The Spider, Assassin (Giant) near Bromyard are known to be quite timid.

Bromyard 's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Mysticism energies of tier 2 via mimery.

Points of Interest

Bromyard has been cursed with some blight that makes life difficult, albeit not impossible. An offended sorcerer's vengeful Working, an outraged god's wrath, a local distortion of the Legacy, or a simple history of bad feng shui in the area may have brought the curse about. I(devise not only the curse, but the reason why the locals haven't left for better lands).

Bromyard 's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.
